Default What Lightbringer Rank will you require for Domain of Anguish PuGs?

Lightbringer Rank Discrimination. It's inevitable, we all know it.

For many of us with guilds and Alliances, it won't matter. You can still get nice groups without an uber Lightbringer rank.

However, the majority of groups which will forum in the Domain of Anguish will be PuGs.

And PuGs in a freely accessable Elite Mission is bad news. Remember how many times a PuG Warrior over-aggroed and killed your team during the Elite Mission Weekend event last August? This will be worse. Much worse.

PuGs will need any advantage they can get. That, conveinently, comes in the form of Lightbringer Rank.

If you are capable of reading these forums, chances are, you will be the person creating the PuG. You'll be too frustrated trying to join other PuGs with no clue. It happened very often during the Elite Mission Event.

So, if you make a PuG in the Domain of Anguish (or, hypothetically, if you prefer), what Lightbringer rank will you require?

I've seen several posts suggesting atleast R2, for Lightbringer's Gaze, R4, since it indicates that a player completed most quests in the Realm of Torment, or even R7-8, just for the best possible advantage.

I, myself, will require Lightbringer Rank 2. For one, if the person has completed the game and doesn't have LB R2, then he's already pathetic. Second, he has Lightbringer's Gaze, which helps a ton: It's the interrupt that is key.

The damage bonus doesn't help at all if the team sucks anyways...

EDIT: Of course, everyone will need to Ctrl + click their skillbar, regardless. I still don't want Mending W/Mos...

Yea, I agree. Rank 2 is fine by me for those same reasons as well. But I wouldnt say if they dont have R2 by the end then they're pathetic. Its just annoying to concentrate on the titles anyway lol.

R2 bare minimum. I hate rank-elitists but you're right about that people should have R2 by the time they finish the game--if you don't it means you've done pretty much nothing but the bare minimum and you've probably ran through a lot of areas instead of fighting through.

As long as you take all available blessings and fight rather than running, you're pretty much guaranteed to reach rank 2 from the primary quests in Realm of Torment.

I would prefer people to have rank 2 LB to do the grand court mission, let alone this elite mission. I would MUCH rather have a mending wammo than a sin anyday. Its not the damage reduction ramma thats important its the 100 odd damage + interupting X mobs (where x = LB rank) thats is

I just hero/henched the entire game. My rank in lightbringer is 1.

Yeah pathetic, I know.. What's even funnier is, up until Ruins of Morah, my monk heroes had starter wands.

I was hoping I could bait someone more intelligent into arguing with me, but I guess you'll just have to do. /sarcasm

Here's a hint: my previous post was code for "I don't PuG".

Well, if you want to discriminate on LB ranks, I think level 2 is fair, at the least. No real trouble in getting that rank through quests..

But if someone shows he knows what do to, even not having LB2, that is fine too.

Behaviour+knowledge > Ctrl+Clicky > LB rank.... (no "GO GO GO", that's trouble :P)

I wouldn't require anything, simply because "rank" does not exactly = skill, just time put into grinding yet another thing. Don't get me wrong the actual effects of the title are nice and have great benefits but I'd rather have a group of R1s who can work together than a group of people who are R6+ and have big heads and attitudes.

So you're admitting to being a troll. How mature/intelligent of you.

In LB ranks, rank does not equal skill. So r2 is sufficient since you get LB gaze which does AoE damage and interrupts.

Didn't you know? Trolling is the widely respected pastime of people who can't take your argument seriously. I also like people who act as though talking about someone else's maturity makes them somehow better.

My post was fine until ramma decided to make stupid comments. Granted, his response was extremely predictable, but it doesn't change the fact that my original answer was perfectly legitimate answer to the OP's question.

Well you're mistaken. Talking about your maturity doesn't make me better than you, but not feeding trolls does.

Have a nice day!

I'd go r2 for gaze. I haven't done a single LB quest so far and I'm r4 just from killing things as I travel around exploring and skill capping. If you're too lazy to walk a few steps extra and talk to whispers informent or a forgotten, then I don't want you on my team.

Well, I think rank 9 is a good low end of the spectrum. After all, if someone is rank 8 or less, they are just showing that they do not have the dedication to continue on beyond what they thought was the limit. Who wants a player like that on their team?

Of course, the flip side would be to simply not care about Lightbringer rank. Many made it through the entire game without it so I cannot fathom it being the only way to survive in the new area. Will it help? I am sure it will. Required to complete? I doubt it. It is nice to see the discrimination starting even before any of you have been to the new area though. That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about the world outside my door. Makes it a bit easier to understand the popularity of Heroes, methinks.
